Visually Testing Ideas

Hey folks,

It has definitely been a while, and it has felt longer than just two weeks since our last post. But here we are, nearing the end of the production diary for the research grant we won a few months ago. We've been keeping busy on story aspects, including but not limited to: character building, plot structure, transitions, and climactic elements.

These have all proven to be significant challenges, but we are happy to say we have overcome every single one of them. Working through each character's background, their needs and wants, separately and then combining them into one piece, were a few of our major steps in continuing and fully understanding the majority of what we want to say and how we want to say it.

We've also been testing some ideas visually by trying to break down concepts, lighting, color grading, editing and everything else that goes into making a film in order to best represent that piece. We're showing it to a live audience tomorrow: three clips of the same scene, but each with a different spin on how it's told.

Check out the snapshot below and tell us what you think!

We have a lot of work ahead of us, but we feel that the majority has already passed.

Until next Tuesday, thanks for reading.
