Visually Testing Ideas

Hey folks,

It has definitely been a while, and it has felt longer than just two weeks since our last post. But here we are, nearing the end of the production diary for the research grant we won a few months ago. We've been keeping busy on story aspects, including but not limited to: character building, plot structure, transitions, and climactic elements.

These have all proven to be significant challenges, but we are happy to say we have overcome every single one of them. Working through each character's background, their needs and wants, separately and then combining them into one piece, were a few of our major steps in continuing and fully understanding the majority of what we want to say and how we want to say it.

We've also been testing some ideas visually by trying to break down concepts, lighting, color grading, editing and everything else that goes into making a film in order to best represent that piece. We're showing it to a live audience tomorrow: three clips of the same scene, but each with a different spin on how it's told.

Check out the snapshot below and tell us what you think!

We have a lot of work ahead of us, but we feel that the majority has already passed.

Until next Tuesday, thanks for reading.

What do these shots say to you?

Alright folks,

Here are three screenshots taken from filmed scenes. Write down your initial thoughts. What do these shots say to you?

Then take it a step further and analyze each one. Try to determine why I chose to shoot it that way. Why did the actor position themselves, or create a facial expression the way they did? What are they doing in the shot? Why? Take into account, lighting, coloring, angle, and anything and everything that might go into how I shot it; this will be both helpful to you and to me. Please post them below, or send them to me via email: mcici@lambentfuse.com .

Until Tuesday the 21st, thanks for reading.

Re-Dress your browser with the new Lambent Fuse persona!

In celebration of Mozilla's featuring of our first persona "Lambent Fuse 1" on their main persona page, Lambent Fuse announces its second Firefox Persona, and you can get it HERE.

What are personas? Well, they are “lightweight ‘skins’ that change the look of your Firefox browser” - Mozilla. Behind all of those toolbars on your default Firefox browser lies a regular skin (usually aluminum for macs, or a beige gray for PCs), but with a Lambent Fuse persona, the browser instead holds a Lambent Fuse image, leaving it both easy to read and full of fun.

Firefox represents almost 60% of the browser market that accesses Lambent Fuse’s official website very day, so we’ve created a way for the majority of you to carry the film wherever you travel, all of the time.

The persona is entitled ‘Lambent Fuse 2’ and is the second of a series of personas that will be released by the makers of Lambent Fuse. Mozilla, the creators of Firefox, is offering their personas as free add-ons to their browser, which is also free.

If you don’t have Firefox, and you would like to take part in the Lambent Fuse persona hype, you can download the browser HERE.

Make sure to get the 'Lambent Fuse 2' Firefox persona and spread the word!
